Counseling Fees and Insurance

Session Fees

My fee is $125 per 50-minute session for both Individuals and Couples. Payment is expected at the time the services are rendered. You can pay using cash or credit card – Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Most HSA and FSA cards can also be used for payment.

I also reserve a certain number of client openings for those who are paying out of pocket and are not able to cover the full cost. If $125 per hour is prohibitive for you, please ask me about this option.

Do You Take Insurance?

Daybreak Counseling Solutions is a private pay practice. I am not in-network with any insurance provider, so I cannot bill through insurance plans. Clients self-pay for services and payment is made at the time of service.

However, some insurance companies do reimburse for out-of-network counseling services, and I can provide a super-bill for you to submit for possible reimbursement. If you are unsure what options you have, check with your insurance company, and ask if they will reimburse payments made to out-of-network mental health providers. If you do have out of network mental health benefits, ask if you have an out of network deductible and what percentage of your therapy cost will be covered after the deductible is met. Please note, there is no guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for any payments you make.

Good Faith Estimate (GFE)

Under the Ohio Revised Code (Section 5162.80, effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to request a written "Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) which explains the estimated total cost for your mental health treatment. Under this law, healthcare providers, including counselors, are required to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for their services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Please note the purpose of the Good Faith Estimate is to offer transparency about your total investment in counseling. It does not commit you to seeing your therapist for a specified number of visits nor does it preclude you from continuing treatment longer than the original estimate.
